No doubt you've heard that the United States is the only developed nation without a universal health care system that provides care for all. NPR has set out to find out how five countries in Western Europe are able to provide universal health care. This in-depth study will look at major aspects of health delivery in Switzerland, Germany, France, Great Britain and The Netherlands. NPR examined things like how quickly patients get needed care, how much they have to pay in taxes and copayments (not as much you might think) and the problems they face as their populations get older.
